Well, there's not much to say besides that.
I walked in feeling awesome, I walked out feeling awesome. It was the in-between part that was a struggle.
But here's the good part: it was crowded, and really hot--and I was smiling.
I had to walk through the Financial District at 5 to get there--and I was smiling.
I couldn't hold my balance poses to save my life. Smiling!
Had to sit out the first set of triangle. Smile city!
It's the smiling that's a big victory for me. Also a big victory: sitting out poses and not feeling like I somehow have to announce, "Hey, it's not 'cuz I'm lazy! Hey, 30-Day Challenge over heah, hollah!!!!" so as to excuse myself. It was nice.
In fact, the joy and gratitude I felt walking in there out of the cold, into a community of (mostly) supportive people (Manhattan yogis can be a little tightly wound, but like I said in an earlier post, just talking to each other helps you feel like you're all in this together), to take class with an amazing, energetic teacher (Anthony!) who never fails to make us all realize that we are stronger than we think we are--well, it was really, really nice. I hope these feelings continue to flourish, to grow--along with me! I think they will.
And now we return to the relentlessly analytical portion of our regularly scheduled program.
Not really--not in the mood tonight. Tonight, I'll just leave myself with a little inspiration--a video that might help me to figure out what the hell is going on in Wind-Removing Pose (not just a nice chance to take a break, apparently).
